Juvenilia WE in Geneva 5-7 February 2010
Labo-M, the youth club of the Grand Théâtre de Genève, is delighted to extend an invitation to all young opera and dance lovers throughout Europe to come to Geneva and enjoy a spectacular weekend of living arts. Come and discover Geneva and its opera house with a three-day extravaganza of recital, ballet and opera, along with the members of Labo-M.
Please find below the detailed programme of the weekend that I kindly ask you to forward to the members of your club:
Friday 5 February
5 PM : Welcome (Grand Théâtre)
5 :15 PM : Short visit of the Grand Théâtre (English/French, 1h30)
6 :30 PM : Dinner
8 PM : Recital, Simon Keenlyside, baritone. Piano : Malcom Martineau
10 PM : Drinks with Labo-M members or free evening
Saturday 6 February
Morning : Walking tour of Geneva
3 PM : Visit the Grand Théâtre technical workshops, and meet the members of the Grand Théâtre Ballet Company
8 PM : Ballet at the Bâtiment des Forces motrices theatre : Blackbird, choreography Jiri Kylian, Traditional Georgian music / Dov’è la luna, choreography Jean-Christophe Maillot, music : Alexander Scriabin / Être, choreography Eric Oberdorff, music : Antonio Vivaldi. Duration : 1h40, with intermission.
10 PM : Dinner
12 PM : Nightlife
Sunday 7 February
11 AM : Brunch
Afternoon : Optional cultural programme
4 :30 PM : Pre-performance conference (French/English)
5 PM : Lulu, Alban Berg. Stage direction and lighting : Olivier Py. Conductor : Marc Albrecht. Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. Duration : 3h20 with one interval. Sung in German with French and English surtitles.
